Contests & Scavenger Hunts

Saturday, June 1, 2024, 2nd Annual Hook a Book Catch & Release Free  Fishing Contest 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at North Park Dock. There is no cost to participate, and the contest is open to all ages. A local DNR warden will lead a “tailgate talk” providing fishing resources. Prizes will be awarded for the longest pan and game fish in each age category.

The Bloomer Veteran’s Group will provide the concession stand —please support them in their fundraising efforts.

The Tiny Art Contest runs June 1- June 15. Artists of all ages are invited to pick up supplies on June 1. To be eligible for the contest, artwork must be returned to the library before noon on June 15.

There will be three Community-Wide Scavenger Hunts throughout the summer. The Bloomer Library will be partnering with local businesses for this fun activity with a prize drawing for each.  Dates will be June 1-30, July 1-31, and August 1-17, 2024.

Programs

Science Heroes: Adventure of the Lost Treasure – Tuesday, June 11, 2024, 2 pm. Join us on a treasure-hunting adventure deep within the jungle! The audience helps the performer act out the tale as we use the events in the story to explore several exciting science concepts: Air pressure, Energy transfer, Physical vs. chemical changes, and more!

River Valley Raptors – Wednesday, July 17, 6:30 pm, at the Bloomer Middle School Auditorium. In this live, interactive 45-minute program, you’ll see a live hawk, falcon, and owl, all while learning about some of the awesome adaptations that make raptors so special.

Smokey Bear 80th Birthday Party – Friday, August 9, 2024, 10:00 am-2:00 pm—enjoy birthday cake with games and activities to celebrate Smokey’s birthday! This party is for all ages.
