Library Director Job Opening
The GE Bleskacek Family Memorial Library seeks an energetic and empathetic leader with excellent customer service skills to direct the operations of their library. The library is part of the IFLS Library System and MORE system and is located in Bloomer Wisconsin, a community with a population of approximately 3,500.
Responsibilities: The Library Director reports to a 7-member Board of Trustees and is responsible for the overall management of the library. Essential duties include collection development, budget management, staff supervision, adult and young adult program implementation, and promotion of the library within the City of Bloomer and the surrounding area. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to providing equitable services for the community. Must be available to work 1-2 Saturdays a month, some evenings, and take shifts on the circulation desk. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required along with possession or willingness to work towards Wisconsin Grade 2 Public Library Certification. Library experience or a Library Master’s Degree are preferred.
Experience: Prefer 1-3 years of verifiable public library experience including experience with supervising staff and public library administration.
Compensation: Starting salary is $45,000 with excellent benefits.
