Library Building

The Library was established as a tax-supported municipal library for the City of Bloomer in 1916. Originally, the building was placed in the Bloomer Grade School. The current building was built in 1987 on land donated by the Bleskacek Family Trust.

The mission of the Bloomer Public/G.E Bleskacek Family Memorial Library is to provide resources and services that inspire people to explore, learn and connect.

Part-Time Circulation Assistant

The Bloomer Public Library seeks a detail oriented, outgoing person with excellent customer service skills, who can perform a variety of clerical tasks at our Circulation Desk.  The Library Circulation Assistant provides customer service for our patrons, charges and discharges books and other materials, registers borrowers, handles funds for overdue and lost materials, shelves books and other materials, and performs a variety of other duties related to the lending and return of library materials.

Applicants must enjoy working with people of all ages, have a desire to serve the reading public, and possess a high school diploma. Computer literacy with Microsoft Windows is essential. Must be able to multi-task, lift and move light to medium weights, and work while standing. Experience with a library circulation system is desirable. 

This position is 8 hours per week plus one Saturday morning a month. More hours will sometimes be available to cover staff time-off. A full job description is available hereThe rate for this position is $9.34 per hour.
